The Event

This event provides Knights of Momus members and their guests the opportunity to experience Mardi Gras in the heart of the Downtown Entertainment District.


The Roof Garden, 2214 Strand, Galveston, TX 77550, balcony offers an excellent vantage point to enjoy the Mardi Gras celebrations, featuring 5 parades during the day, culminating in the Momus Grand Night Parade!


The venue is close to the primary concert stage, and attendees can join in the celebration by throwing beads from the balcony. You have the option to bring your own beads or purchase "Throw Beads" Bags in advance to have them ready for you at the party check-in!


The ticket covers the entrance to the Entertainment District, access to the Roof Garden venue, and food and drinks for the entire day.


Members may purchase tickets for family & friends to attend, but do not have to be present. However, anyone under 21, must be accompanied by an adult.

The Knights of Momus is the grandest and oldest Krewe supporting the social and civic efforts of Galveston’s historic Mardi Gras.

 

In 1867, just two years after the War Between the States, the citizens of Galveston proclaimed the Island’s first Mardi Gras celebration.
