Seaside Scenes: Knights of Momus hosts magical summer soirée

The Knights of Momus held their annual summer soirée, the King’s Affair, at the historic Galveston Artillery Club on July 12.

The party kicked off the start of a new Mardi Gras season and a new theme—Carnival of the Cosmos.

The event was a nod to “A Midsummer’s Night Dream,” with an abundance of fresh flowers, themed cocktails, delicious food, live music, and friends old and new.

Party Chairs Erik and Claire Garza worked tirelessly alongside current President Jason Hardcastle and his wife, Hayley Hardcastle, to create a memorable event to celebrate the past kings and newly announced 27 duchesses of the Knights of Momus for 2025-2026.

For the event, the Galveston Artillery Club was transformed into a magical space, with each room having its own theme. Kathy Rea of Majestic Linens ensured every detail was perfect, from the florals, arching trees, dripping vines, and mood lighting.
