Spreading Mardi Gras Joy: Knights of Momus King and Queen's Heartwarming Visits

In the spirit of Mardi Gras, the Knights of Momus King Frivolous, Fred D. Raschke embarked on a heartwarming journey, spreading joy and cheer to various institutions across Galveston.


His visits to The University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston (UTMB), Shriners Hospitals for Children, Trinity Episcopal School, Tideway Physical Therapy, Libblie’s Place, and The Meridian Retirement Community brought smiles to countless faces and captured the true essence of the season.


At UTMB, King Frivolous, accompanied by former KOM King V. J. Tramonte, KOM Board member Craig Kovacevich, retinue member Jack Brock, and Raymond Brouillard, KoM Board member and member of the King’s retinue, lit up the ACE Unit with their presence, offering solace and solidarity to patients and staff alike. Their smiles and kind words served as a beacon of hope in challenging times.



The visit to Shriners Hospitals for Children was a heartwarming affair, as King Frivolous and Duchess Shaelin Murphy shared moments of joy with young patients facing medical hurdles. Alongside former KOM King V. J. Tramonte and Retinue member Jack Brock, they became beacons of hope and inspiration, bringing smiles to the faces of families navigating difficult times.



Trinity Episcopal School embraced King Frivolous with open arms, welcoming him and his entourage with enthusiasm and curiosity. His partnership with former KOM Queen Francie Howell Buergler symbolized the timeless bond between tradition and innovation, inspiring students to embrace the rich tapestry of diversity that defines Mardi Gras.



At Tideway Physical Therapy, King Frivolous ignited a spark of joy that resonated throughout the facility, infusing each moment with infectious energy and positivity.
